2D Animation

Hi! I am student aspiring to be an animator. Here's a 2D Animation I did for one of my class. The project was to create a nameplate for ourself and this is what i came up with. I am hoping to get some critiques to improve this animation and make it better. Thanks!

How was my follow through and overlapping action??
Does my squash and stretch show believable weight?
How was my timing??

Aw, it's cute! I don't have much to give by way of critiques (I'm not an animation student yet), but thought I'd let you know that.

it looks pretty good except something looks kinda goofy about how much her head bobbles back and forth when she hits the ground.. like maybe it bounces back and forth one too many times and it should settle into the position she's standing in more gently instead of an abrupt stop..

i think also the last time her head moves to the left her hat should have more drag on it and be facing the right until her head stops. after her head stops then the tip of the hat would come back to the left

hopefully that makes sense cuz it's hard to explain over lj... anyways for the most part it looks really good .. also it helps to record things in a couple loops so that it can be watched over and over again to find mistakes cuz it sucks to keep pressing the play button

Hey there! Sorry for the late reply on this:

There's way too much overlap, cut down the spacing (amount) by 75% and definitely only once. People don't do that. By the force of how she lands and bobs forward, she'd smack the floor. Unless that was the style, still even stylistically it feels wrong as it has no reason to bob that way.

Why does she left her left leg twice but never take a step? People naturally would.

The timing is ok.

S&S is hard to tell since you loose it all in the bob.

Hope that helps!
